Little Bridges Global

Supporting children and families through significant change

Major transitions can affect much more than daily routines. Moving country, family separation, changing schools, questions of identity and belonging, parental absence and other important changes can influence how children and adults feel about themselves, their relationships and their sense of security.

Little Bridges Global provides psychologically informed guidance, practical resources and one-to-one support for people navigating these periods of change. The organisation brings together research, developmental understanding, international experience and professional work with Žana Barros Da Silva.

When life changes

Families do not always experience the same event in the same way. An international move may feel exciting to a parent and deeply unsettling to a child. Separation may bring necessary change while also creating uncertainty, new routines and difficult emotions. A child may appear to adapt quickly and struggle later, or show through behaviour what they cannot yet explain in words.

Little Bridges Global focuses on understanding these experiences rather than assuming that people should simply adjust because the practical change has already happened.

The work includes areas such as international relocation, family separation and changing family structures, identity and belonging, school and social transitions, neurodiversity-related transitions, parental absence and other changes that affect family life.

About Little Bridges Global

Little Bridges Global was created to make useful psychological understanding more accessible to families.

Research and developmental psychology can help explain why a person may respond to change in a particular way, but parents also need practical guidance they can use at home. They need to know how to respond when a child is withdrawing, angry, anxious or asking to return to the life they left behind. Adults may need support understanding their own beliefs, boundaries or emotional patterns while they are trying to hold a family together.

Little Bridges Global therefore combines understanding with practical application. Its work is organised around professional support, family resources and a growing pathway for schools and organisations.

Meet Žana

Žana Barros Da Silva

Žana Barros Da Silva

Žana is the founder of Little Bridges Global and is currently in the final years of her psychology studies at Klaipėda University. She has trained in Rapid Transformational Therapy through the Marisa Peer Academy in London and has undertaken research-based academic work in areas including developmental psychology, ADHD, family transition, child adjustment, identity and belonging.

Her one-to-one work commonly focuses on low self-esteem, limiting beliefs, confidence, fears, boundary-setting, emotional patterns and rebuilding after significant life changes, including separation.

Her professional perspective is also informed by an international life. Born in Lithuania, she moved to the United Kingdom when she was young and later lived with her children in Brazil, southern Spain and the UK before returning to Lithuania.

Žana works in English, Lithuanian and Russian. Sessions are available online, with in-person work also available in Lithuania.

Therapy & one-to-one support

Some difficulties persist even when we understand them intellectually. A person may know that they need stronger boundaries and still feel guilty when they say no. They may recognise that a relationship has ended but continue to repeat the same beliefs or emotional patterns. They may be competent in many areas of life and still carry a powerful feeling that they are not good enough.

Žana uses Rapid Transformational Therapy within structured, personalised programmes designed to explore beliefs, emotional responses and experiences that may be contributing to present-day patterns.

The work begins with a detailed consultation, but that consultation is Part 1 of the paid programme, not a free discovery call or separate service.

Current programmes include a focused individual programme, a three-session programme and a limited 12-month private programme for clients seeking more sustained support.

What is Rapid Transformational Therapy?

Rapid Transformational Therapy is a focused therapeutic approach developed by Marisa Peer. It uses hypnosis within a structured therapeutic process to explore beliefs, emotional responses and earlier experiences that may be connected to a difficulty in the present.

The purpose is not simply to tell someone to think more positively. A client may already know what they want to change. The work is intended to explore why an old belief or response still feels convincing and to work with the pattern at a deeper level.

Every client is different, which is why the process begins by understanding the person and the issue they want to address rather than applying the same explanation to everyone.

The Little Bridges approach

The work of Little Bridges Global is guided by five principles:

Understand → Steady → Connect → Belong → Act
01

Understand what may be happening beneath behaviour or emotional responses.

02

Steady the environment before expecting rapid adjustment.

03

Connect through relationships that provide familiarity and security.

04

Belong by recognising that a sense of home and identity takes time to develop.

05

Act by turning understanding into practical decisions that can support everyday family life.

Understand. Steady. Connect. Belong. Act.

Resources for families

The First 90 Days by Žana Barros Da Silva — book cover

Not every family needs therapy. Sometimes the most useful first step is having reliable information that explains what may be happening and gives parents practical ways to respond.

Little Bridges Global develops research-informed resources for parents, children and young people navigating significant transitions.

The first major publication is:

The First 90 Days
A Parent Guide to Helping Your Child Thrive After Moving Abroad

The book focuses on the first weeks and months following international relocation. It helps parents understand child adjustment across different developmental stages and explores issues such as loss, school transition, friendships, identity, belonging and family connection.

Future resources currently in development include My New World Workbook and Between Worlds Journal.

Little Bridges Global is also developing support for the organisations surrounding children and families during transition.

This includes international schools, employers, HR and Global Mobility teams, relocation companies and other organisations working with internationally mobile or changing families.

Potential organisational work includes bulk publications, family-resource packages, school and relocation materials and appropriately structured institutional licensing.
